01/02/2010

ACTIVE Profile’s Managing Director, Anna Heyes, was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the third annual Northwest Women in Business Awards which took place on Friday night at Ribby Hall, Preston.
The 28-year-old won the prestigious title for the second time in three years, after previously winning the same award at the first Northwest Women in Business Awards in 2008.
The judges were impressed with Active Profile’s clear strategy and ability to embrace change in challenging economic conditions. Active Profile delivers public relations and marketing services to a range of private and public sector clients, including Chemicals Northwest, Energy Innovation Centre, Northwest Business Leadership Team and Tracey Bell.
Ms Heyes said: “I’m surprised and delighted to have won the award for a second time. I am very proud of Active Profile’s achievements over the last two years. We’ve got a great team, great clients and a very exciting future as we look to open a Manchester base in the Spring.”
The awards were co-funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), as well as other private sector sponsors and were presented in association with lead sponsor Barclays Wealth.
The awards celebrate the achievements of the women running some of the region’s most successful and innovative businesses in the continuing challenging economic conditions.
Elaine Owen, chair of the Northwest Women’s Enterprise Forum, said: “Each year the standard of entries gets higher and the judging process becomes more difficult.” She added: “This is a testament to the hard work and great business acumen of women entrepreneurs in the north west.” Award organisers also believe the award winners demonstrate the capacity to inspire more women to consider business enterprise as a career.
